The current cast of Boom Chicago come to Comedy Café Berlin fresh from premiering their new show, Bango, to bring you an evening of some of the best long-form improv around.

THE CAST OF BOOM CHICAGO

Boom Chicago has been Amsterdam’s leading improv theatre for since being founded by three Americans 25 years, and has a host of illustrious alumni, including Seth Myers, Jordan Peele, Jason Sudeikis, Kay Cannon, Ike Barinholtz, Amber Ruffin, Matt Jones and Heather Ann Campbell.

The cast includes some of the finest performers from the USA and the UK:

CENE HALE
Cené Hale is an award winning American actor, writer, and comedian who has lended her likeness and voice for multiple viral short films, video games, and commercials for companies like Netflix, Nike, Hema, and Dell. She’s performed all over the world doing improv and sketch comedy for festivals including Freshtival (NL), Del Close Marathon (NYC), Women are Funny Festival (CHI), and Out of Bounds Comedy Festival (ATX) to name a few. You can catch Cené performing nightly at Boom Chicago at the Rozentheater in Amsterdam.

SIMON LUKACS
Simon Lukacs has taught improv for The Free Association, one of London’s premier improv schools/ theaters, and is a member of their house Harold team The 838.

His main improv squeeze is The Petting Zoo (“Improv supergroup” Time Out London) – he is a founding member and with them has performed at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Del Close Marathon, The Brighton Fringe, The Comedy Cafe Berlin, and their London residency at The Free Association theatre, London.

As a character comedian, Simon has taken two shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival – Kayfabe in 2015 and Simon Lukacs Shows His Range in 2016. He has written for ITN in the UK, and appeared alongside critically acclaimed sketch act Massive Dad for BBC3.

RHYS COLLIER
Rhys hails from the quiet, leafy streets of west London and has trained with the Free Association, Monkey Toast, the iO Theater and the Upright Citizens Brigade. He has also taught improv for the Free Association in London.

Rhys is a founding member of and regularly performed with award-winning improv troupe Do Not Adjust Your Stage across London, including residencies at the Natural History Museum and National Gallery. He’s also had the pleasure of improvising with them internationally at festivals in New York, Barcelona, Edinburgh, Paris, Dublin, Tallinn, Uppsala and even here in Amsterdam! Rhys also improvises with Free Association house team Sweet Fanny Adams and solo as Powerhouse.

KAREL EBERGEN
Actor, comedian and writer from San Francisco, California. At UCLA he was a part of the comedy sketch troupe, Company. With Company he wrote and performed sketches in sold-out stadiums and to eclectic celebrities like Lionel Richie, MC Hammer, and a bunch of actors from Teen Wolf who the audience went crazy over, but Karel had no idea who they were.

Karel has performed and taught improv for a while with the Upright Citizens Brigade and has performed in multiple comedy festivals from the New York Del Close Marathon to SF Sketchfest to many more.
